Évian-les-Bains, France – The United States holds a 12.5-11.5 lead following the morning mixed foursomes matches at the Arnold Palmer Cup at Evian Resort Golf Club. The International side entered the round trailing by four points but claimed 7.5 of the morning’s 12 points.
South Africa’s Jovan Rebula and Switzerland’s Albane Valenzuela claimed the day’s first point with a 4&2 victory. The two sides would halve the next two matches. Team USA would then claim three of the next four matches to push its lead to 12-7.
The Irish duo of Ronan Mullarney and Chloe Ryan would spearhead the International comeback with birdies on Nos. 17 and 18 to win 1-up. England’s Harry Hall and Wenyung Keh of New Zealand posted a 3&1 result along with a pair of International 2-up wins to cut the lead to one point. The United States SM Lee and Kaitlyn Papp would rally back from 3-down thru 11 to halve their match against Jaravee Boonchant of Thailand and Sweden’s Fredrik Nilehn to preserve the American’s lead.
