First Round Pairings Set for Arnold Palmer Cup at Formby Golf Club

FORMBY, England – First round foursomes pairings for the 2016 Arnold Palmer Cup at Formby Golf Club were announced at today’s opening ceremony. The first match of the Ryder Cup-style competition between collegiate golfers will tee off at 7:30 am Friday. 

The first match of the competition features David Boote and Sam Horfield against Team USA’s Alistair Docherty and Will Gordon. In match No. 2, Poland’s Adrian Meronk and Austria’s Matthias Schwab will face Doug Ghim and Will Zalatoris. The French team of Antoine Rozner and Robin Sciot-Siegrist square off versus Rico Hoey and Nahum Mendoza III. In the fourth pairing, Stuart Grehan and Lars van Meijel compete against America’s Derek Bard and Michael Johnson. The final match will pitt Mathias Eggenberger and Robin Petersson against Charlie Danielson and Zach Wright of the United States.

Afternoon four-ball matches are scheduled begin at 1:30 pm with pairings to be determined.

The United States leads the all-time Arnold Palmer Cup series 10-8-1.
